If I don't have time right after I've made a top, I just put those scraps in a gallon size ziplock, label it "scrap quilt", than put it in a bucket where I keep my "current projects" stuff. My machine sits in the middle of the main level of my house, so when I have an extra 10 minutes, I just sit down and sew. Or when I need a 10 minute therapy session "thinking through something", I sit down.
