It's a little crazy this week.  Though I'd love to be getting ready for the BQF (Bloggers Quilt Festival), this week we're in the heat of wedding prep:

and deciding on floral arrangements:
 I'm totally in love with my Greek urns from Round top.  This one is several hundred years old.

friday finish goal:

My daughter-in-law just finished this darling chevron quilt.   The pink came in fat quarters, so she just cut her fabric in the best way to get the most amount of HST, using this tutorial.

She came over today to learn how to make a raggy binding.  We used 4 inch wide strips cut on the bias.

You can learn how to make a raggy binding from this post.  It gives a baby quilt some fun texture, and is much faster than a regular hand sewn binding.

She quilted on each of the sides of the seam on her regular sewing machine.

Look how cute the back turned out!  I'm so proud of her.  She's only been quilting a year or two, and she figured all this out on her own.

I have some patterns to give away from Carrie Nelson @ Miss Rosie's Quilt Co.  I love to follow Carrie's blog, she's got a great dry sense of humor, and I can directly relate to her dog and elderly parent stories.  She's got some fantastic patterns and books out.  I've got 2 of her quilts currently in progress.

Count down to Blogger's Quilt Festival

It's been a long week, and I definitely need some mindless therapy in my life (better known as quilting).  I'm starting a new project tomorrow. 

I have 3 or 4 quilt tops done now, all in different "quilting" stages.  Hopefully I can finish one to enter into the quilt festival.
