bug plus finished & give-away

I finished this quilt several months ago, and am just getting around to blogging about it.

(sorry this is slightly ever so out of focus)

you can learn about the making of this quilt here .  It's the longer, more tedious way to make a plus quilt, "rectangle in the middle", I think I'll stick to the "5 square" version of the plus quilt.

the recent retreat I attended was the perfect back drop for a photo shoot.

It's just as if I called nellie's cottage ahead and ordered all these perfect colors and vintage pieces for my photoshoot.

quilt stats:
65 x 81 (washed)
batting - 80/20% comfort blend by winline
fabric - feature fabric is "bug jars" from Michael Miller, Hawthorne fabrics (bikes and woodpecker on birch), wimpy kid by Robert Kaufman, and other aquas, greens, grays.  Match stick and pencils by cotton and steel.  I even see a bit of Sarah Jane (making paper airplanes) and a few sweetwater fabrics.
quilting - meandering squares
pattern - squares are 4 inches, 1 rectangle and 2 squares = 1 plus
pattern from  for the love of George blog
quilted pillowsham - 19 x 27
inspired by - quiltstory on IG (Meg: @quiltstorymeg)

I was trying to find the name of the skeleton fabric and look what I found:

I'm just now using my Ikea numbers for a large back, wish I'd bought more.

These pictures are all a bit out of focus, sorry.  I think I need a new camera :(

  5. Your quilt is gorgeous! I always thought making a plus quilt with a rectangle in the middle would be easier, but having gone back through your other posts I see how the 5 square method would be faster. The best books I've read recently have all be been by Brandon Sanderson. I'd recommend anything of his. Thanks for the chance to win :)
