comma top finished

Comma quilt top finished, and sent to NAM (Northwest Assistance Ministries).  I won't get to see it finished, they will tie it.  But some unfortunate soul who has gone through NAM's recovery program will receive it.

Here is an earlier post with the Double Slice Layer Cake tutorial.

 The fabric is:

Tonight, I pulled out my Butterscotch and Roses from Fig Tree and whipped up some log cabins.

arrows

diamonds

I still have a row all the way around to go before made final decisions about the design.  I'm going between diamonds and arrows.  Which do you prefer?

ANOTHER GIVE AWAY! .  .  .  .  . CLOSED.

You may be addicted to quilting if you lay awake at night thinking of your wip's or you're not able to turn the motor in your brain off, or you find yourself turning the light back on after your hubby's asleep and you order ridiculous amounts of fabric.

I have found a great solution to my quilt insomnia.  I like to read fiction at night.  Sometimes I read the same pages 3 or 4 times because I'm in that "in and out" stage of falling asleep.  Grisham is an easy read, he writes a clean book, and I enjoy his dry sense of humor.  It's not something important that I have to remember for the morning, and it helps me to fall asleep.

I have an extra copy of "The Racketeer".  If you'd like it, leave me a nice comment, and I just might send it to you . . . minus the glasses.

  1. I love your comma top. It's a shame you won't see it finished. Your log cabin blocks are lovely too :)

  2. I prefer the diamond setting because I think it shows off the fabric more. I just finished Grisham's, A Painted House. It is a total departure from his other novels, but I really enjoyed it.

  4. You are so sweet to share with us! My husband LOVES Grisham and I've been reading a few of his books lately as well. I've never heard of "The Racketeer." Is it new?
Also, I love your log cabins - I think the diamonds are my favorite!

  7. Your comma top quilt is beautiful! After seeing it all put together, I know I must have the pattern. I love your quilt in the shape of "diamonds" because you see so much more of the colorful fabric. Thanks for sharing and for the giveaway.

  9. I am guilty of getting into an argument with the hubs then immediately buying fabric without an ounce of guilt! Haha! I am also a nighttime reader otherwise I get too involved with social media or thinking of WIPs. I really love the comma quilt and the log cabin is just fantastic! I like the way you set it in a diamond pattern and the arrows make me think of books on selves. Either way it will look great! ps-I already have this book (haven't read it yet) so exclude me from the giveaway. :)
