drunkard's path revisited & giveaway

At first I hated this quilt top.  I tried to make a drunkard's path pattern using the lid to a pot, but forgot that I needed the last 1/4 inch would be used as the seam allowance.

Thus my edges didn't match up.  Can you see how the the circles aren't really a full circle?

Then I started seeing variations like this one, and I realized that the new modern is un-matching seams . . . YES!

watch out, quilt police, there's a new sheriff in town (or maybe I should say "there's no sheriff in town" . . .  seen too much of toystory this week :)  Here's the new drunkard's path for modern quilts . . . unmatching seams.

So, I decided to finish this quilt.  I really like how it finished.  It's made with Gardenvale by JenKingwell.  You can read more about it here.

And I am in the market for a good drunkard's path ruler, but they're so expensive!  I want to make sure I get the best one.

I have 2 options I'm looking at, Elsie's Backporch Drunkard's path ruler and Bloc Loc ruler . . . "don't need a ruler" you say?  Let me explain.  I have very low pain tolerance, short attention span, and not much patience.   I was medicated to have my babies, and yes, I would prefer to use a ruler for the drunkard's path.

GIVEAWAY:  closed.
If you can tell, I've been cleaning out my sewing studio again.  I have a left-over charm pack of noteworthy by sweetwater.  If you'd like it, please leave me a comment and if you've made a drunkard's path block, I'd love to hear about it.

quilt doctor

The winner of last week's giveaway, the "morningside farm" mini's is Diann.  Thank you for all your sweet comments!

My cute daughter-in-law, mother of 3 under 4 yrs, found a pretty bad mold stain on her "FIRST" pieced quilt.  With no extra time on her hands, and ready to give it away . . . I grabbed it!!!!  (to work on it for her, of course :)

OMW!!!!  don't those colors just look lucious?  like you want to eat vegetables and green smoothies full of anti-oxidents all day?

So before I carefully hand pick each of those squares out, and make new ones to carefully sew back in there, I will try every suggestion pinterest has to offer for getting mold stains out.

YIKES!  that's 5 squares.  That would definitely test my patience abilities, not to mention my sewing skills.

You can learn more about this quilt here.  Its an Empty Bobbin design by Shea Henderson.   She did a great job writing that pattern.

I would love to hear if any of you have had mold issues with clothing/fabric and how you've gotten it out.
