Scrap Quilt Top

Here is my scrap quilt top made with 2011 fabrics.  For a quick tutorial, go to this post.

I put a 2 1/2 inch strip around each finished block.

Here are some block close-ups:

This quilt is being donated to charity.  The ladies at my church are going to tie it in the sashing, then I'll go back and FMQ the centers.

  2. The trick it to MAKE IT EASY. If I don't have time right after I've made a top, I just put those scraps in a gallon size ziplock, label it "scrap quilt", than put it in a bucket where I keep my "current projects" stuff. My machine sits in the middle of the main level of my house, so when I have an extra 10 minutes, I just sit down and sew. Or when I need a 10 minute therapy session "thinking through something", I sit down. Since there is no pattern you don't have to think about it. sew, press trim. sew, press, trim.
